Alison J. Shilling

Alison J. Shilling is a litigation associate in the New York office of Barger & Wolen LLP, where her practice focuses on commercial litigation and arbitration. Prior to joining Barger & Wolen LLP, Ms. Shilling focused on commercial litigation, including insurance coverage matters. She is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey.

More recently, Ms. Shilling has drafted several successful motions for clients in both arbitration and court contexts. In addition, she has second-chaired numerous oral arguments before arbitration panels and trial and appellate courts, including two cases of first impression. The first case stemmed from the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in Hall Street Associates, L.L.C. v. Mattel, Inc., 128 S. Ct. 1396 (2008), and the other case resulted in the Second Circuit’s decision establishing the power of arbitrators to issue subpoenas to third parties for the pre-hearing production of documents.
