We originally represented over sixty different insurance companies during implementation of the rate rollback and prior approval processes. Since that time, Barger & Wolen LLP has been a lead participant in all California Department of Insurance task forces, charged with developing and implementing the premium rate prior approval regulations.

The firm’s regulatory attorneys consult routinely with insurance companies in connection with rate application submissions and the attendant application review process and represent insurers during public rate hearings.

On behalf of its insurance company and insurance producer clients, Barger & Wolen LLP’s regulatory attorneys also monitor regulations proposed by the California Department of Insurance and prepare comments concerning and objections to proposed regulations. We have extensive experience in conducting “crossover” litigation that seeks to invalidate regulations by declaratory relief and other relevant actions.
